Galleon Chief Sentenced to 11-Year Term in Insider Case – NYTimes.com.

So the fat man goes down. Raj Rajaratnam, held up as the epitome of Wall Street greed and corruption, will supposedly spend the next 11 years behind bars for insider trading. He could have received a stiffer sentence, but according to the article the judge was influenced by Rajaratnam’s so-called ‘good deeds’ –his generous contributions to the victims of 9/11 as well as to the victims of the 2004 tsunami. Of course, as Sri Lankans, we are aware that the TRO, or Tamil Relief Organization, is a front for the LTTE terrorist organization, and that Rajaratnam was one of its biggest contributors. Whether the western media is simply stupid or distracted, they refuse to connect the dots: That a prominent Wall Street insider was funding international terrorism. If that’s not a headline, I don’t know what is.
