He could have received a stiffer sentence, but according to the article the judge was influenced by Rajaratnam’s so-called ‘good deeds’ –his generous contributions to the victims of 9/11 as well as to the victims of the 2004 tsunami. Of course, as Sri Lankans, we are aware that the TRO, or Tamil Relief Organization, is a front for the LTTE terrorist organization, and that Rajaratnam was one of its biggest contributors. Whether the western media is simply stupid or distracted, they refuse to connect the dots: That a prominent Wall Street insider was funding international terrorism. If that’s not a headline, I don’t know what is.
